Skookum Canvasworks provides custom covers and enclosures for recreational and commercial boaters around the region. The Skookum crew collaborates with customers to design projects that meet their specific boating needs. Each project is unique and patterned on-site.
Skookum brings more than 30 years of experience and fine craftmanship to the table for the perfect collaboration. Skookum Canvasworks is known for high standards in fabrication. Skookum’s projects are engineered to withstand Southeast Alaska’s harsh climate, and are built to last.
Coral Pendell transitioned from fabricator to owner early in 2021. Coral Pendell is a life-long Sitkan with a wealth of boating and commercial fishing experience. After growing up on fishing boats, Coral and her younger sister bought and successfully operated a commercial troller for 7 years. Her experience working with Alaska Marine Safety Education Association honed her awareness of vessel safety. The Skookum crew has grown as Donna continues to work part-time as a fabricator. Bridget excels at challenging upholstery jobs and her flawless stitchery graces many Skookum projects. Nicola brings her artistic talents and precision to marine enclosures and specializes in leather work. Gary constructs stainless steel frameworks, fabricates and installs enclosures and assists with administration. The crew works well together and enjoys the challenges presented by the boating industry of Southeast Alaska.
